The Young Voices Concerts take place each year in January and February. Schools can choose the venue that best suits them. On the day of the concert, the choir, along with up to 9,000 other young voices, will rehearse together for the first time, creating a vibrant collective experience. In the evening, prepare yourselves for a breathtaking concert performance featuring a few special guest artists. We also enlist the UK’s leading sound and light technicians to enhance the performance. The excitement and energy in the arena will be an unforgettable sensation for each child, making it the most memorable school trip of the year!
What happens next?
Your primary school firstly needs to subscribe. There is a small subscription fee of £111 per school. For that you get sent everything you need to get your school ready for the big day. When you subscribe let us know how many children you think you will have in your choir and which venue you would like to sing in. >
Included in the pack is an online Teacher Guide to support you throughout your YV journey this covers everything from the initial rehearsal period to pre-concert preparation and on-the-day concert support. As well as access to the music online we also post out a printed Music Book to your school. >
Once you are set up in the Teacher Centre, the teacher and everyone involved in the YV choir will gain access to the online learning platform where the children and their parents can listen to the music and watch dance move tutorials. This is a great way to help your choir rehearse at home when you can’t be with them in the classroom. >
As an addition, we also offer teachers the option to purchase a Teacher Workshop held in September and October 2024. Teacher Workshops are an excellent CPD day and a valuable learning experience for all teachers that attend. Teacher Workshops are where you get to join our Principle Conductor, David Lawrence, Musical Director, Craig McLeish and our Creative Director, Andy Instone, who will run through the repertoire and share lot's of tips and encouragement for the big day. >
