Meet Harriet Rose ✨
Joining us at Utilita Area in Sheffield!
We’re thrilled to welcome rising indie/Americana artist Harriet Rose back to Young Voices – this time, not as part of the choir, but as a headline guest artist for our 30th Anniversary tour in Sheffield.
Harriet first sang with YV as a child, and now she’s returning to the very stage where her musical journey began. We caught up with her to reflect on her YV memories and what it means to be back.
What’s it like coming back to Young Voices as a guest artist for the 30th Anniversary?
I feel extremely privileged to have been given this opportunity. It somewhat feels like a full circle moment to be back where it all started and I am so excited to share the stage with the soon to be stars of the next generation.
Can you remember your first YV performance? What stuck with you the most?
I can remember it very well! One of the first things I remember was the scale of the event and I couldn’t believe I was a part of something so big and professional. I also remember the fun I had with my friends and teachers during the day. I loved the High School Musical medley too - definitely a big fan at the time!
How did being part of Young Voices help shape your journey in music?
Young Voices was my first real experience of performing in a huge venue and to a large audience. I watched the special guest perform and was inspired to want to be able to do that one day. It ignited a spark in me to strive and chase my dream within music so that one day I could perform in venues and for audiences like that too.
What advice would you give to kids singing with YV for the first time?
Enjoy every moment. From learning the songs to standing and performing for the crowd in the arena. Take it all in, be confident, believe in yourself and have fun.
If your younger self could see you now, what moment would make them proud?
10 year old me would definitely be proud of the fact I am performing on the Young Voices stage in Sheffield! I also like to think she would be proud of my determination and hard work to make her dream of being a singer and musician happen.
If you could describe Young Voices in just three words, what would they be?
Life. Changing. Experience.
